Gulltoppr (Old Norse for “golden top” or “golden mane”) is the horse of Heimdall, the watchman of the gods. The horse, mentioned in the song of Grímnir in the Poetic Edda as well as in the later Prose Edda, is described as a beautiful and great animal, a worthy mount for its almost divine rider.
